Guided Ski tour with a ski instructor | HIDDEN VALLEY | ALTA BADIA Dolomiti Superski
"Wonderful full-day routes?" Starting from Alta Badia you'll be spoiled for choice!
We start today from San Cassiano in Alta Badia. Today's destination is the ski area Lagazuoi 5 Torri, the Super 8.
Armentarola, Pass Falzarego, Col Gallina, 5 Torri, area of the Passo Giau ... here we come ;)
Ascended by cable car to the Piz Sorega we take the blue trail back to San Cassiano to the junction that leads us to Armentarola where we will take the taxi service that will take us to Pass Falzarego. (for a fee)
Often when we arrive here we go up by cable car to Lagazuoi to make a pretty red slope on the way back to Pass Falzarego and then to Col Gallina (careful when you are on top of Lagazuoi...descending do not get the wrong direction going towards Armentarola or you will find yourself back to the starting point and to return to Pass Falzarego you will have to take the tax again !!!). Today, however, we cross the pass road and we take the link to the area Col Gallina.
Arriving at the chairlift in Col Gallina we go up then quickly go back down and take the additional connection to the area 5 Torri. A semi-flat little road in which it is advisable to take some speed to avoid having to "push" too intensely.
Arriving at the Baita Bai de Dones we just have to come up with the chairlift towards Refuge Scoiattoli. The panorama that appears to our eyes is simply gorgeous. The 5 Torri could almost touch them...the Tofane behind us and in front the Averau ... unmissable.
After skiing in the various slopes of this side, we climb by the newly built two seats-chairlift, to Refuge Averau where from its beautiful terrace we enjoy a breathtaking view with the Queen of the Dolomites in front of us (Marmolada), Codalonga valley, Val Fiorentina and Mount Civetta...How wonderful!
An interesting note: this refuge is the landing point of the heligourmet ... unmissable adventure among the snow of Dolomitisuperski .... Guided skiing, scenic helicopter flight and unmissable gastronomic experience ;)

Suggested itinerary to discover the Lagazuoi area, 5 Torri, Passo Giau
starting from the village of San Cassiano in Alta Badia
Now we discover the other side of the ski area down towards Refuge Fedare in a long runway in the sun between the rocks of Pass Giau.
Reaching the base of the chairlift Nuvolao we say hello to Anna and Ivan, the owners of Refuge Fedare and go up to the top by chairlift.
Depending on the available time and where we decided to stop for lunch, we decide whether to continue to ski in this area or take the way back instead.
We choose to return and then go down again towards Refuge Fedare, but now we turn right at the junction for Croda Negra, a connecting chairlift that will put us in the direction of Col Gallina.
A long skiweg will take us, in some places "pushing a little bit", to Col Gallina that we previously crossed. Following the signs for Pass Falzarego we continue up to reach it.
Now we just have to go on the red cable car to Refuge Lagazuoi, with its beautiful panoramic terrace, to still these unique Dolomitian views even more.
Before descending through the long and wonderful slope Armentarola we visit a station for the machine gun dating back to the Great War, placed in a tunnel dug in rock..it's right at the start, on the right ;)
Now we go down and admire the rock formations around us ... amazing. The slope is a true spectacle of nature that leads us gently to the Refuge Scotoni and to the frozen waterfalls.
Taken the usual photos to the falls we descend to Capanna Alpina ... a bit further down the sledges pulled by horses are waiting for us. (fee service) The nice connection to the Armentarola area, the characteristic conclusion of this fabulous ski tour.
Attached to long ropes behind the slides, we let ourselves being pulled up to the Armentarola area ... some little push with snowshoes and we reach the ski lift that takes us through a short link slope to our starting point...here we are again in San Cassiano!
The tour is amazing for the variety of indescribable landscapes that it can give, in the silence of these altitudes...where the sky is bluer!
