How to get there

Is easy to reach on foot, on skis (Lagazuoi 5 Torri ski area) or by taking the Giau chair lift; it is at the hub of many excursions and routes for skiers and is a popular stop along the Alta Via No. 1.
But if you’re looking for a touch of romanticism, you can enjoy a dinner in one of the refuges, going up on a motor sledge and with a nocturnal descent.
There is the possibility to stay overnight.

The Averau hut is located in the immediate vicinity of the Great War Outdoor Museum of the 5 Torri, where one can walk through the restored trenches and tunnels. A fascinating way for children and adults alike to learn about the history of the area.

The Refuge Averau is at Forcella Nuvolau 9,  Colle Santa Lucia, (Belluno).
